About the Awards:

Each year, ADEIL will present a number of awards recognizing excellence in various aspects of work in distance education and independent learning. If you are a current (paid up) ADEIL member we invite you to read the criteria for each award and consider nominating an outstanding staff member from your institution or colleague in the field, or perhaps submitting a course or research project. We would like to have a number of nominees
and submissions to create a lively competition for each award.

The Helen Williams Award, the Monty McMahon Award and the Von V. Pittman Excellence in Research Award have specific time periods associated with them.

• Both of the course awards, the Helen Williams and the Monty McMahon Awards, should have opened for enrollments during the 15 months prior to the nomination (July prior to the last academic year through August prior to the nomination).
• The research should be completed and published during the academic year preceding the conference (September through August).

Submission Deadline: September 1 (or the first business day of September)

Mail your nomination, as described with the award descriptions, directly to EACH of the awards
committee members and co-chairs listed below. If e-mailing the nomination, please put the
name of the award in the subject field. Awards should be mailed or postmarked by September 1
of the year for which they are submitted. For more information about the awards contact the co-
